Taking a picture of your screen on your computer is known as a screen capture (also known as a screen capture). After the screen capture is completed, the image is copied automatically onto your computer’s clipboard.

You can then copy and paste the image into a mail message, file, or image editor (Paint, for instance). You can also save the picture as a file and then add it as a photograph in a document, email message, a different file or even an image editor.

Using the Print Screen Key

To capture all the screens.

  • Use the Windows logo key and The PrntScrn button together. On tablets, use the Windows logo button and then the button to turn down the volume button in tandem. (The screenshot is saved to the Screenshots folder of the Picture folder.)

To capture all active windows:

  • Click to activate the PrntScrn key.

To capture a single active window:

  • Click or tap on the area you wish to record.
  • Click the Alt + PrntScrn keys together.

Once you have captured the desired screen or window using the Print Screen key, you must take additional steps. Paste the captured image into an editor such as Microsoft Paint or Photoshop to edit or save it. Open the appropriate application and use the Ctrl-V key combination to paste the image into a new image document.
