1-Get all the information you can get to read classic

literature, paperbacks, websites, newspapers, email, and your feeds from social media cereal boxes: if it’s written in English, you should take the time to read it. Why? This material will be packed with delicious new words and a good amount of vocabulary you already have. This can help you get better at it quickly as exposure to vocabulary that you are familiar with provides new contexts that help reinforce those words you have in your head. In addition, learning new words and phrases is vital to building your vocabulary, especially in a language such as English that has numerous words! But don’t simply go through the book and then move on to the next; you’ll need to…

2- Be aware of the latest terms.

This is a tried and true one with a good reason. It works! When we learn, we usually get excited about a new word or phrase so much that remembering it is almost impossible. But trust us when we say that not everything is a hit on the first try. To combat this, adopt the habit of carrying your stylish notebook or using an app such as Evernote; if you come across an interesting word or phrase, note it down in its context, which is in a paragraph and with the meaning written. This will save you time since you don’t have to go back to that word to ask yourself: “What did that word/expression mean again?”

3-Chat with real human beings

What’s a language in the first place, if not communication? Yes, we’ve been able to communicate without speaking, thanks to WhatsApp! However, when push happens, then it’s a fact that speaking in a foreign language makes you retain it in your mind much better than just writing it down or reading it. Consider the number of times you’ve heard someone say, “I’m a native English speaker” or “understand but can’t speak English.” Many potential English users have turned speaking into a formidable obstacle that serves to stress their way out. Don’t make the same mistake. Look for native speakers to participate in informal exchanges, sign up for a course, or even take online classes.

4-Subscribe to podcasts or YouTube channels (in English)

Do you like humor? Politics? Blogging? Cooking? With topics covering every topic you could imagine, there’s an English-speaking podcast or YouTube channel to help you. Join a few channels and listen to them while driving or commuting to work or school. In the beginning, you may encounter difficulties with the native accents but persevere, and soon you’ll begin to recognize the sounds you hear (as you learn lots of new vocabulary from an authentic speaker!)

5-Go abroad

There’s any better approach to mastering English than immersing yourself in it while studying and living in a country with a high level of English we’d like to know! It’s not a surprise that English is among the spoken language around the globe and, with a massive list of countries you can choose among, you can choose the best studying environment based upon the hemisphere’s weather, hemisphere, or your favorite city. Think of Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada, the US, Canada, and South Africa, to name a few!

6-Utilize your friends

Do you have friends who share online in English? Please don’t overlook the content they share on your feed. Check out the content they post and set a goal of exploring the occasional article or two. It could be news, video articles, magazine articles or talks, blog posts, songs, or anything other than that: if it’s English and the subject interests you, it’s bound to be beneficial!

7-Ask lots of questions.

Curiosity might be the cause of cat death, but it also helped propel the student of English to become fluent! While learning English, you’ll soon be able to answer many questions. Do not ponder your doubts. Be curious and work to resolve your issues! If you’re in an educational program, you can ask your instructor (it’s the reason they’re there to do it, at the very least). If you’re learning on your own, do not fret. You can search for answers on blogs and language websites, talk to other learners, or look on the forums. You’ll be glad that you made an effort!

8-Learn from the stars

Make learning fun by selecting a native English artist or performer you admire. Go online and search for a selection of interviews they’ve conducted, and then watch them! Please take a few minutes to get the gist of it before rewatching, taking time to write down any exciting phrases and words you encounter. The slang, stories, humorous anecdotes, and jokes from these interviews will surely provide you with plenty of material to use!

9-Then, think about what you genuinely require.

Your English studies will accelerate when you keep reminding yourself of the reasons for studying. Are you participating in an exchange program for study? Focus on the vocabulary that is relevant to your study. Are you attending an international meeting? Learn some of the best conversation starters for the other attendees. Are you planning an unplanned vacation? The travel and tourism vocabulary will guide you. If you jump into studying English, hoping to master everything you need to know at once, you’ll likely be frustrated and confused. That leads our attention back to…

10- Don’t be a jerk when you’re going.

When you feel that you’re not gaining the right strides – which occurs to everyone learning at some point – do not say, “I don’t speak English,” or “I’ll never get this.” Eliminate these phrases from your vocabulary! They will only impede your awareness of your progress and cause you to believe that your hopes of speaking English effectively are only possible if they are present. Instead, it would help if you said, “I’m learning English and making improvements every day,” “It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it,” “I’m so much better than I was six months ago,” and many other words to remind you of the bigger picture.
